I've gotta stop listening to your episodes about music. How did The Who's Tommy not come up. How did Blink 182?

Wanted to add a comment about 2 interesting concept albums that you guys might not know. Both are compilations, strangely. Colonel Jeffrey Pumpernickel has a bunch of great indie bands and comic artists singing and drawing scenes from the Colonel's life.

Then, Dark Night of the Soul is one of my favorite albums of 2010. Its written by Danger Mouse and Mark Linkous from Sparklehorse, but it has tons of big guest artists. Lots of catchy songs but some dark themes, accentuated by the fact that Mark Linkous killed himself shortly after (and so did another guy on it, Vic Chestnut) Look it up.

I was going to ask why Tommy was not mentioned but someone beat me to it. Also, I don't think rock and roll invented the concept album. Jazz was doing it long before the Beatles.

After the fact, I realized we missed a big one with The Who. I don't know that John or I are particularly familiar with the the band or album, though.
